Savannah seems to be feeling better and she almost takes her medicine willingly. We went to the river yesterday with a couple of Jer's coworkers and Annie loved it. It was super hot outside and the water was really cold, but she didn't care. She loved feeding the ducks crackers, but threw in some chapstick and a wrapped rice krispy treat for good measure. I'll have to teach her to "help keep America looking good!" (Remember that commercial?)
How could such a sweet looking girl be such a little shit (to quote Aunt Phyllis)? Savannah has taken to throwing tantrums when something doesn't go her way. She says "NO, NO, NO!" and hits anything within reach - a chair, the counter, and on occasion me. Sometimes she hurts her hand and holds it up for me to kiss better. Apparently she has learned that my kisses can fix anything. She gets hurt a lot, but as soon as I kiss her ouwee, she stops crying. (How do you spell that? It's like ouchee without the "ch".)
Our nighttime routine is getting better. Annie tends to cry when I leave her room, but I've stopped going back in there. She stops crying after about thirty seconds. I'm such a sucker! Why didn't I ignore her before now?? I've even ignored her when she wakes up in the night and she quiets down in less than a minute. Of course if she wakes up and her room is light, I take her to my room and we go back to sleep. I see no reason to get out of bed before 8:00! A woman needs her beauty rest.
Hope you didn't have to work too hard on Father's Day. We love and miss you all!

"Owie." :)
Her face looks like it's 200 degrees in the top pic. No one should ever be required to get out of bed before 8. Especially on summer vacation. Now someone explain that to Ike :)
Even though I saw you just a couple of weeks ago, I still can't believe how big she looks! I'm so happy that night-time is getting a whole lot easier for you. It's so nice when you can get to the point that you know they are down for the night. Luke is doing the hitting thing, too. I guess it's the age. Sherie said he hit some random girl at Flips today because he got mad at Sherie. Nice eh? Can't wait to see you again!`
